FRESH
SAUSAGES STUFFED WITH POTATOES AND CABBAGE
Although
the weather is warming up, a fulfilling dish always tastes good to me (yes, I'm
a person to eat Cozido à portuguesa (portuguese
boiled dinner) in the heat of summer). And as I know that there are many people
out there like me, I leave you today with a simple recipe to make, made with
only a single pan, which was delicious. I hope you enjoy it too.
Recipe
adapted from the book "As melhores receitas da família" - Missão Continente - p.37
Ingredients:
- 4 fresh
sausages
- 1 chouriço/chorizo
- 1 mini
beer (25cl)
- 2
onions
- 3
garlic cloves
- 1/2 savoy
cabbage
- 1
tsp of paprika
- Salt
and pepper
- olive
oil
- about 6
medium-sized potatoes
- 2
tbsp of tomato pulp
Fry the
sausages in a pan with a little olive oil until they get brownish. Remove and
set aside. In the same pan, sauté the onions in slices, the chopped garlic
cloves and the paprika. Bring until the onions are translucent. Then add the
tomato pulp, the potatoes, the cabbage, the sausages cut in half, the sliced chorizo,
the cabbage cut in julienne (thin strips) and drizzle with the beer. Season
with salt and pepper and cook with the covered pot until the potatoes are
cooked. Keep adding water whenever it’s needed. Then serve.
